🌿Premium Long Jing / Dragon Well – Mid to Late Spring Handpicked Harvest
Price range: €3.20 through €26.00
Long Jing, also known as Dragon Well, is one of China’s top ten famous teas and a true representative of Chinese green tea. The leaves are flat and slender, resembling small bamboo leaves, and the infusion offers a fresh, brisk, and lingeringly sweet flavor.
People often describe Longjing as having a distinctive bean-like aroma, reminiscent of freshly roasted beans. Others find it hints of orchid fragrance, while some say it carries the subtle sweetness of raw chestnuts. This unique complexity makes Longjing a tea that sparks the imagination and offers a different experience to every drinker.
For many tea lovers (like me), Longjing is the first choice when they want a green tea that is both refreshing and full-bodied.
AROMA & CHARACTER
🌿This Tea is from BIO-certified tea gardens in China, cultivated with care and respect for nature.
The aroma of Long Jing / Dragon Well is elegant and layered, with a gentle freshness that carries notes of spring fields after rain. Its fragrance is clean and uplifting, never overpowering, but refined and lingering.
Longjing is traditionally categorized into Mingqian Long jing and Yuqian Long jing.
-Long jing Mingqian is harvested before the Qingming Festival (All saint’s Day in China) in early Spring, prized for its delicate freshness and Umami aroma.
-Long jing Yuqian (before rain) is harvested before the Grain Rain period in mid-to-late April, and has a fuller body and a Stronger taste, owing to its higher content of tea polyphenols.
On the palate, Long Jing reveals a smooth and rounded character: a balance of brisk vitality and soft sweetness. The liquor is bright and clear, leaving a refreshing aftertaste. This harmony of delicacy and depth makes it one of the most celebrated expressions of Chinese green tea.

Caffeine

The freshness and astringency of green tea are often just a few seconds apart. If the water temperature is too high or the steeping time too long, the tea can quickly become overly astringent, as green tea is the least processed and aims to preserve the natural character of the fresh leaves. By contrast, with the right temperature and a brief infusion, you can taste the pure, refreshing flavor of spring in every sip.
