AROMA & CHARACTER

Baozhong is the lightest-oxidized of all Taiwanese oolongs (about 8–15%), often described as sitting between green tea and oolong. Grown mainly in the misty hills of Pinglin, New Taipei, at altitudes of 400–800 meters, the tea benefits from a cool climate, frequent rainfall, and rich, well-drained soils. These natural conditions, combined with traditional craftsmanship, give Baozhong its signature elegance and fragrance. Gentle and refined, it is a tea that emphasizes aroma over heaviness, approachable yet sophisticated.

Baozhong is renowned for its exquisite floral aroma, often reminiscent of orchid, osmanthus, or lily. This pronounced fragrance comes from its light oxidation (which preserves aromatic precursors in the fresh leaves), the use of traditional cultivars such as Qingxin Oolong (naturally high in aromatic compounds), and its very light roasting, which avoids masking the freshness. The liquor is clear and light greenish-gold, smooth on the palate, almost free of bitterness or astringency. Each sip feels like stepping into a spring garden, finishing with a clean, delicate sweetness that lingers beautifully.
